Question: What is the problem with traditional advertisements?
By nature, advertisements are disruptive to wanted content. Therefore, people don’t like viewing Advertisements as demonstrated with the effort many (myself included) will go through to avoid advertisements. According to Forbes Magazine, 47 percent of consumers are blocking ads. Furthermore, 47% of participants in their survey said that they block ads because they are often “annoying” or “irrelevant.”
To combat this innate disruptive issues with traditional advertisements, Arch Media creates Branded Content which meaningfully incorporates a brand into a fun, engaging story. Not only is storytelling a more enjoyably way for the audience to experience your brand, but it is more effective than simply explaining a product.
For thousands of years, humans have communicated through storytelling. Ancient myths kept people together and out of danger. Since those times, myths have evolved into books, major Hollywood hits, and television shows that capture our hearts and imaginations.
So why not apply the innate human need for storytelling to commercials? How many times have you felt board by listening to a spokesperson simply talk about their store or product? More importantly, can you remeber exactly was the commercial advertising?
Even the creative commercials that are entertaining often don’t 1. communicate a brand’s message and/or 2. leave you in a place where you can tie the events in the commercial back to the brand it’s promoting. Most large companies can get away with having engaging commercials that have nothing to do with their brand because they run the same commercials over and over again until audiences have no choice but remember them. While in this accomplishes a company’s goal in theory, many people become annoyed with the brand. Their aggravation with the commercials can even lead them to dislike a company, distrust their products, and as we saw with the Forbes article, completely shut out a brand’s communication efforts.
Question: How can small businesses afford a commercial?
For many local companies, advertising takes the form of word of mouth, flyers, or social media posts due to the high cost of commercials. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Arch media helps small businesses create and promote meaningful commercials for prices even a Mom and Pop store can afford .
When the Roman Empire started utilizing arches in the first century BCE, it allowed them to efficiently construct large buildings with relatively small amounts of brick or stone. Arches allowed the Romans accomplish goals thought almost impossible before their implementation. Acting as the connecting point between small businesses and media advertisements, Arch Media hopes to be the tool that helps the local businesses we love thrive, and perhaps even expand.
